In a bizarre crossover event that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Uncovered
According to the official release, "A mysterious encounter pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of banned ceremonies and fearsome changes reverberate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden sect.
The questline centers on "bizarre tests and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Content
This patch also introduces the game's newest free story addition, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
