Some deaths in detention have been high profile, including a senior healthcare leader who perished in prison after 120 days in custody.

A prisoner incarcerated with the victim testified that he was led to the courtyard by correctional officers immediately preceding his passing, obviously hurt and naked from the lower body. His remains has not been repatriated to Gaza.
